Container questions

A new (or one-trip) container has made a single loaded voyage from the factory and is in near-factory condition. A cargo-worthy (CW) container is used but structurally sound, fit for further ocean voyages and certified as such. Wind and water tight (WWT) units are sound for storage and local use but are not certified for sea transport. We state the grade clearly on every enquiry.

Yes. Tell us the size (20ft, 40ft or 40ft high cube), the grade you need and your delivery location, and we source matching units. Availability changes daily, so the quickest route is a short enquiry by phone, WhatsApp or the form on this site.

Yes. Owners and fleets with surplus or ageing units can enquire about selling. We assess condition, age and location before giving a view on the route to market.

Standard 20ft and 40ft dry containers, 40ft high cube, refrigerated (reefer) units, open-top and flat-rack containers. Special sizes and modifications such as ventilation, shelving or doors can be discussed on request.

Yes. We arrange short-term and long-term container rental for storage, site offices and shipments. See our container rental page for how it works.

03 · Vessels

Vessel questions

Yes. We support vessel sale and purchase for general cargo, bulk carriers, tankers, tugs, offshore support vessels and other tonnage, from the first enquiry through inspection, negotiation and handover documentation.

Commission an independent pre-purchase technical audit. Nanak Ship Management runs pre-purchase vessel audits as part of its technical management services, covering hull, machinery, class status and records.

Class and statutory certificates, ownership and registry documents, survey history, maintenance and drydock records, outstanding class recommendations and any liens. Your lawyer and class society confirm each point before closing.

Yes. After delivery the vessel needs a manager, crew and a compliance plan. Nanak Ship Management offers technical ship management and crew management from India.

04 · Consultancy

Consultancy questions

For ship management, crew and technical consultancy in India we recommend Nanak Ship Management. For maritime training and competency we recommend the Nanak Shipping Institute, led by Capt. Dilip Narsian, Master Mariner.

A maritime consultant advises owners, charterers and traders on vessel purchase, technical condition, compliance, crewing and operations, so decisions are based on independent knowledge rather than a broker’s or seller’s view.

Yes, at the advisory level, and we involve the right specialists. Nanak Ship Management works to MLC 2006 and STCW standards and liaises with Class and Flag State. Training questions go to the Nanak Shipping Institute.

Career and exam guidance is handled by ProCareerTek, which covers IMU-CET coaching, deck and engine officer programs, rating courses and Sri Lanka CoC facilitation.
